APRA AMCOS and SOUND WEST announce new creative partnerships

APRA AMCOS and SOUND WEST partnership taps L-FRESH The LION as creative curator joined by Grammy nominated writer producer Khaled Rohaim. Joined by Western Sydney Artists: A-GIRL and NADEAN

Music rights organisation APRA AMCOS is excited to announce a partnership with Greater Western Sydney music and technology festival SOUND WEST, being held 23-28 August 2022 in Parramatta.

The partnership will see hip hop artist and APRA AMCOS Ambassador L-FRESH The LION curating a songwriting residency SongHubs The Tower, an industry live showcase featuring SongHubs talent and local artists, and delivering a keynote as part of the SOUND WEST program.

As the curator of the four-day songwriting intensive SongHubs The Tower @ SOUND WEST, L-FRESH will select applicants from Western Sydney, nationally and from New Zealand to collaborate on new commercially-viable songs.

As the flagship SongHubs session, 'The Tower' is the biggest of the year, traditionally taking place in inner-city Sydney. The Tower @ SOUND WEST brings the songwriting, producing and recording sessions to Western Sydney for the first time. From 23 - 28 August 2022, the VIP boxes at Parramatta's CommBank Stadium will be converted into world-class recording studios

L-FRESH will be joined by SongHubs special guests hailing from Western Sydney including six-time Grammy nominee Khaled Rohaim, who has produced and composed for global superstars Ariana Grande, Polo G, Doja Cat and The Kid LAROI. His work on Rihanna's billion-streaming hit 'Needed Me' saw him honoured with a place on APRA AMCOS' The 1,000,000,000 List. Khaled is also a credited songwriter and producer nominated for his work on Doja Cat's Grammy-nominated Album of the Year Planet Her.

Applications for SongHubs The Tower @ SOUND WEST will open in the new year. APRA AMCOS members who would like to apply, please visit apraamcos.com.au/songhubs.
